Our Mission is to help couples and parents grow Godly homes that influence and change our culture.
Our Vision is to reclaim the hope and belief in what God has ordained. Our philosophy is based on some basic foundational principles:
- God is sovereign.
- God ordained marriage.
- The family begins when you say "I do".
- A parent's primary role is to train up their child to become a self-governing adult. And it's possible to do so!
- Other than the church, the family is still the primary institution ordained by God to influence our culture.
If you haven't been there yet, please visit www.goingpublicthebook.com to learn more about us, our family and our book; and please buy and READ the book!
May God bless you in your great calling,
David & Kelli

Love it!
Great job guys ... looking forward to many more gems from the Pritchards.
God bless,
Mick

David and Kelli -
You've hit it - my husband and I absolutely cannot wait for the release of Going Public. Heard about you through a dear YL friend who met you at the All Staff conference last month. Already encouraged...

How did you decide to have 8 children? My hubby and I are in the discussion phase for baby #3. I've been told once their here, I'll never regret having another one, but with that mind-set when would you know to stop? We both love being parents, we both want to raise our children to ultimately be self-governing adults who glorify Jesus with their lives. So when do you know that your "quiver is full"?

At the risk of sounding flippant, start by praying and asking the Lord when to stop. Whenever we say that, the first question we get back is how will God give us the answer. We believe that God is big enough to figure out His part - our job is to earnestly ask the question. Kelli and I decided way back that we would have them one at a time. We never set out to have eight kids. I think we would have both said we wanted a lot of kids, but I don't think either of us were thinking eight! At any rate we never felt a peace about stopping until Sina, our youngest was born nine years ago. Even though Kelli will tell you that she would always want another baby - we both had a peace about being done having kids of our own.
On a lighter note we will tell you that 3 is the hardest - you have to move from man to man to zone defense! After that it gets busier, but it also gets a whole lot more fun. Seriously, we do not believe that God desires for everyone to have eight kids. Each couple needs to seek the Lord for His desire for their family. I can't wait to hear what you and your husband decide is God's best for you. Trust the Lord!
Blessings,
David and Kelli

I read your book right after reading "The Book that Transforms Nations" by Loren Cunningham. By the way, the book he's talking about is the Bible! Anyway, I am so encouraged and excited about what you wrote. One of the methods Loren points out that nations are changed is by its education system. I believe that if we as Christians supported our schools and kids as you suggest and as God further leads, our nation would be changed.
You wrote that "Our Mission is to help couples and parents grow Godly homes that influence and change our culture." I believe that your book will do this!!
Thank you for this book.

You will lead millions straight to hell by encouraging them to go to government schools! Nice try using the secular term "public. You obviously never worked in one.

I am wondering if this book, and any others, will help me to be a better public school teacher. I do not have kids of my own, but I teach 7th grade language arts and I volunteered for Young Life for years, but I want to teach the kids God gives me each year what they really need to know in order to be successful and I want to make sure I am teaching them the right things since I am not their parent. Any suggestions?

I do have to admit that I enjoy reading through your blog, even when I do not concur with you. I guess the major factor would be to make people today believe. One of nowadays I will get around to beginning a weblog. It'll in all probability be much more for blowing off steam and less useful than yours is though. Maintain writing and I'll keep reading.
