You will lead millions to hell

John wrote: You will lead millions straight to hell by encouraging them to go to government schools! Nice try using the secular term "public. You obviously never worked in one.

Thanks for visiting our site. I'm glad that you share our desire for every child to have the opportunity to experience the love of God. While we may disagree on the best way to do that I trust we all share a heart for lost kids in every school. I apologize if the word "public" is somehow offensive, we were just using the commonly recognized word for the schools that are indeed supported by government (our tax dollars) money. You are correct that neither my wife nor I teach full time in the public school - however my wife has substituted and I have coached high school athletics at several different schools. In addition we have eight kids and have seen the schools up close and personal. So, I suspect we share some of the same concerns about things that happen within the walls of our public institutions.

With that said, I'm curious if you've read our book? Please know it is in no way a knock on home school or private school. Rather it is addressing the reality that 89% of the kids in America attend public or government or whatever we want to call them schools. We felt like it was time to write something that would equip, encourage and help the parents of those 47 million kids. Thanks again for visiting and I hope you will come back soon.

What a beautiful, grace-filled response to such a hurtful, sad attack.
You are a wonderful inspiration to us all, hopefully even to John!
    Love you guys!

    John,
Your comment is not very helpful. Many Christians send their kids to public schools for a variety of reasons. We have had kids in Christian and in public schools. We have an obligation to impact the culture which includes the schools and we are clearly called to share the gospel with kids in these public schools. Isolationism has never impacted the culture. We will all ultimately work in the world in which we live.

I want to thank you - as a parent who can't afford to send my child to private school or to homeschool, I sometimes feel like other Christians look down on me, and I am so grateful for your wisdom and support! I want to be equipped and to best equip my child.

Today is my very 1st visit to this website. I am almost finished with David & Kelli's book, that was given to me by our senior pastors wife that has 4 WONDERFUL children in "public" school. We send 2 of our 4 boys to a great private Christian school (the other 2 are not of school age yet) and we have been praying over sending our boys to "public" school.
It brought tears to my eyes to see that John felt like the Pritchards "will lead millions straight to hell by encouraging them to go to government schools". Having a window into their lives through this book has been an answer to prayer! It has challenged the whole way I have thought for the past 9 years! I want to thank them for opening my eyes to the fact that it is time for me to allow my children to be a light to others and allow them to start the journey that God has for them to bring others to Christ. Yes, there will be challenges and things I don't love, but what better time than now while they are young, trainable and under our roof and our control to have those challenges. What an opportunity to help them grow in the Lord!
God is working through the two of you and I want to thank you for your willingness to open yourselves and your families up so you can help people like me. May the Lord continue to bless your family. B. & MJ Taylor
