It's worth it!

I was riding in the car with my daughter Krista (age 24) and Tavita (age 23) to the airport the other day. We had just finished our month at Malibu (Young Life camp). Tavita had served on Summer Staff along with 30 other college age kids. It was the first time in many years that we were able to see him every day for a month. As I visited with him and his older sister, I was struck by how much I enjoyed them as people. It dawned on me that all those things I wrote about last time (changing diapers, chasing toddlers, getting puked on) in hindsight, were a small price to pay for this moment in the car. Of course old age and a deteriorating memory probably helps - but still, it was a reminder that all the work we put in with our kids when they were 2 and 3 was worth it. I know sometimes when you are in the thick of battle you can't see the end goal. Don't lose heart - keep pressing on - IT'S WORTH IT!
