School is on the way!

August is here!! Wow, how time flies!! Here is some encouragement! Some, who start school later still have 4-5 weeks left!! Dwell on what you can still get done rather than all the things that you have not accomplished!! Attach a fun activity with a much needed project ie work to clean the garage and then take everyone for a swim!! My kids are also motivated by looking up their school supply list and knowing when we get to shop for back-to-school. We have everyone dejunk and inventory their own rooms to figure out what their needs are. Remember to include sports or other extracurricular activity supplies that may be needed. Get those sports physicals, dental, vision appointments etc scheduled and all the required immunizations needed for school. Most importantly, we are reminded of what a privilege an education is. There are thousands of children around the world who are not schooled. We know that it is not the information that is the most important to learn, but the wisdom to use information to further His kingdom. Also, we are to raise children who “exude the aroma of Christ’s character” as they respond to authority and their peers in school.   Lastly, begin to pray for this school year no matter how you educate your children. Pray for wisdom, for the people that God may bring into your lives ie teachers and families, and that we would be grateful and good stewards of these minds that God has given us!! Please enjoy your families these last fleeting days of summer!!

Thank you so much for your book! My oldest son begins public Kindergarten on Aug 23. I still have mixed feelings about it, but your book brought me so much peace and encouragement! He does love the Lord and we have worked hard to train him to be obedient and to have a spirit of self control. I pray those qualities continue to take root and grown in his little heart, and that he not only survives but THRIVES in public school. Thanks again and may God continue to bless your family and ministry... Megan (Cypress, TX)
