Mark Your Calendars Ladies!
Two weeks ago, I attended the Young Life Women’s Weekend held at Malibu, our beautiful Young Life camp in Canada. It was a wonderful time to get away, reflect, assess and dream about life!
We had a wonderful speaker who inspired us to go a step closer and a step deeper with God no matter where you were starting. Breakout sessions included topics such as ‘The End of Men’, ‘Facts vs Truth’, ‘Personal Safety’, and ‘Reconciliation’. Q and A was offered by two Marriage and Family therapists as well as ‘Strengthening Your Marriage’. Sessions were offered by interesting women such as a police chief, the co-founder of a ministry called D.A.D.S., and a woman who works for SoulFormations. And of course it’s Malibu complete with activities like swimming, canoeing, water-skiing, hiking and the ropes course. Most importantly, there was lots of free time to sleep, read, shop in our YL store and have coffee with friends at Hamilton’s coffee shop

Often we get in a rut and wonder if life is passing us by or if we are doing all that God intended for us. Spending time away from our routine allows margins to really think and pray – no one is asking “What’s for dinner?” In fact the Young Life cook at Malibu, Miss Sharon is fabulous, dinner is always great! And get this, there are NO dishes and NO laundry. No ball games, homework help, meetings or chauffeuring to worry about! There are no cars, cell phone coverage, computers or TVs just the beauty and tranquility of nature to relax you!! To top it all off, a group of very kind and honoring men serve our food and do all the clean up!
I would like to personally invite you to next year’s Young Life’s Women’s Weekend. It will be held on September 15-18th 2011. The cost is about $267. Invite your family and friends! We would love to be with you! Go right now and mark it on your calendar!
